My latest folklore article is From The Glens Of Scotland . I hope you have as fun reading it as I did in the writing of it. Scotland is a wonderful place, full of folk tales and legends. You can read my article at the link below:

I loved this article, Phyllis! My Grandfather's Grandparents moved from Scotland to Canada, when their English-Scottish marriage was scornfully taboo. I love to imagine what his life was like in Scotland - what legends he believed in, rituals he practiced; the life he lived, and left for love. My Grandmother loved Rabbie Burns, and moved from the farm in East Calais, VT, to Barre to attend the high school with the granite Burns monument in the front. It is now the Historical Society building, and they dedicate much of it to him.

Shay,

Thank you for the comments.

Your family history is so interesting! Thank you for sharing. My Irish ancestors had to leave Ireland for love so I understand your ancestors reasons. A Great Xseveral Grandfather fell in love with a Pagan lady and they were ousted from the clan, so they eventually came to America (or their descendants did). We also have Scottish and German ancestors. Ireland and Scotland have always been very dear to my heart, even though I have never been fortunate to visit either country.

I will be doing more on Scotland and Ireland folktales.

Shay, PS:

Have you ever celebrated The Burns Supper in honour of Rabbie Burns?
