Yup, I go on eBay occasionally to either buy or sell items <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have bought a few things thru ebay also...and
have had mixed results. Mostly,the merchandise
was good,but I did buy a new cello that I was
unhappy with,it had scratches "under" the finish.

Sellers who care about their reps will always list any defects on an item like a scratch and such. I listed a Pelican Laptop Case with a few scratches on it and it still sold for almost $100.

I bought and sold until the EBAY shadowbane copywright police shut me down for selling in game items. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

of course.. i will start again after I get the legal disclaimer worked out at the bottom of every sale.

I shop at ebay all the time for everything from clothes for my kids (used), to Christmas gifts, to electronics, to hobby related stuff. I have also sold many things over the years. I have only rarely had any trouble. Mostly they were just honest mistakes that I could understand. I only once had a non-paying bidder and eBay refunded my seller's fees and I relisted and finally sold the item. I love eBay because I can generally find anything I want. It is especially helpful when I am looking for things that are not available in the stores anymore.

I have bidded on ebay and even won an auction for a laptop that I am quite happy with.

I do have some collectibles stuff that I need to sell on there and as soon as I figure it out, I will be doing that as well.

I've sold quite a few things on ebay, even clothing does very well.
The only problem I've ever had was when I sold a set of three baskets. The auction ended on a Monday and the buyer didn't pay until Thursday. I shipped the baskets promptly on Friday. Then the buyer had nerve enough to leave me bad feedback because she didn't have the baskets by Sunday (which was Easter) and she paid for parcel post shipping.
