Stacie,
Thanks for sharing the link.
I'm a firm believer in natural supplements because the human body afteral is completely reliant upon nutrients, vitamins etc... but strangely, many MDs make no mention of natural supplements when treating patients. It is as though they feel "natural" as opposed to synthetic pharamaceuticals, are somehow outdated and bogus. Despite this attitude, very serious problems can occur when we are deficient in vitamins and nutrients. Low B-12 for example can cause pernicious anemia.
With this said, I also believe the synthetic drugs are lifesavers and restore health as well and is why it would be nice if more MDs saw the importance in both. I just reviewed Dr. Starr's book for example and though he believes in natural supplements and nutrition he also believes hypothyroidism for example, must be treated with hormone replacement therapy.
I haven't gone in and read on Dr. Pepi's site yet but plan to browse at the site link you gave. I just thought this was good opportunity to mention these things, as we all look at different sources out there.
As far a reversing Hashimoto's and Grave's Disease, I've seen a few sites out there that make this claim and it's possible this happens in some cases although I suspect that it is very rare. I will say that a patient trying a cure type regemin, should do so, with a Dr. supervising closely. In my opinion, a cure can only actually be confirmed, through blood monitoring of a patient and follow up examinations by an in-person Doctor.
This doesn't take away from the fact that it's interesting to read what these sites have to say but I would advise everyone to do so with caution.
