What do you do when your coupled-up friends invite you to go out and do something with them? Do you go as a "third person"? Or do you track down someone to go with you so you are two pairs?

I reckon the reason they've invited me is because they find each other's company so boring and irritating, they need my scintillating conversation, brilliant wit and wonderul sense of humour to keep things lively and animated, so I can hardly disappoint, can I? ....I mean... why else would they invite me - ?!

I don't think people have to be paired up - I go out with groups of single friends, with combos of single and married friends in all combinations smile So if a pair invites me along, I go! smile

That used to bother me - but, not anymore. I have been single for so many years that I am quiet comfortable with my own company and I do not feel out of place or awkward with couples. In fact, I feel much more free to be myself.
