I got rid of my TV. I suddenly got 1-2 hours more to myself each day. Even though a lot of this time has been traded in with time with the laptop, it still gives me more time for reflection, getting practical things done and just being me.

TV is an interesting topic. Time with a TV can be quite productive, as when someone watches documentaries to learn more about an area they care about. They can learn more about autism to help care for an autistic child. TV can also be mindless though, when someone sits through commercial after commercial. The average adult, by the time they hit age 65, has spent two YEARS of their life watching commercials. That is just staggering. If we were given a free 2 years, would we choose to spend it staring at commercials?

So definitely if nothing else people should go for commercial-free living as much as humanly possible. That's a start.

So take just FIVE minutes to create that calm center. Clear your desk, light a pretty candle, take in long, deep breaths.

I used to get a head massage when I get stressed. It shows quick results. I also like to get regular massage from the therapist to relax the mind and body.

That's definitely a good idea, too. Sore muscles can be like water torture constantly bothering you. Finding ways to release them, with hot baths and massage, can really help one's overall frame of mind.

I think we can reduce stress by doing meditation. Shirodhara treatment is also a effective way to reduce stress and it is most recommend treatment for Stress, anxiety, panic attacks, depression

Starting and planning for a calm 10 minutes faces a lot of obstacles where the mind itself does not coincide with the decision. Hence one needs to know how to control the mind in order to spend the time worthwhile taking important decisions.
