Well I'm a die-hard Pistons fan so I'm sad Detroit lost to the Celtics, but the Celtics made a fine showing and all of Detroit wasn't "on" on any given night. But should Joe Dumars be firing Flip Saunders? I mean is it really all about winning the Championship? What players do you think will be next to go on the Piston's team?

Oh, by the way, now that the Pistons are out of the running, I am now a Celtics fan because I really want KG to get his ring, so move over Kobe. smile

P.S. Is any of this inflammatory or breaking the basketball rules?

In sports, every time a team loses, they always blame or fire the Coach. It wasn't him who dropped the touchdown pass, or missed the three point shot, or let the baseball roll between his legs.

It sucks when they fire the coach for the mistakes of the player.

Well they have to pay off Flip's last year salary contract so he doesn't lose out on money, that's for sure. And as for getting another coaching job - they always do. But it seems to me it's the players on the floor that didn't play the game right, not the coach. But I guess he's the fall guy (start at the top of the chopping block and work your way down). Looks like Dumars is open to trades from other NBA teams. Prince, Hamilton and Wallace, I heard, are all walking an banana peals. They've gotten to the NBA Eastern conference 6 years in a row and now they want to start mixing things up, whatever. I suppose we're due for some tweaking in Detroit.

Rumor has it that Billups might be traded to Miami along with Maxiel. Detroit seems to feel rookie Rodney Stuckey can replace Billups in due time and the team with get the 2nd Round draft pick which will be a very good situation for Detroit to be in.

The Celtics trio were unstopable for game one, even though Paul Pierce went out temporarily in a wheel chair due to a sprained knee. He miraculously reappeared on the court just minutes later to the disappointment of LA only to make two 3-pointers. They were on fire, taking game 1. They confirmed, for me, why Detroit lost to them. They seem to be on a mission. LA is going to have to come back with fire in their eyes.
