Has anyone read Blood Noir by Laurell K. Hamilton yet? I just ordered it from amazon and should get it Wednesday. What do you think of it?

Waiting for it to come in!!!

Althouhg, I have been becoming more and more disenchanted with her books lately. She's been focusing more on sex and less on plot.

I think her first books were better. But if Edward is in this one, I'll be happy!

She has become pretty focused on sex. I liked The Harlequin a lot, despite all the sex, though. It didn't seem quite so extraneous, though there was a lot of it. I should have mine tomorrow!

OK, I'm reading it now - it's not quite as bad as some of the others; but I jusdt wish she would focus on PLOT more.

I'm getting so irritated - I'm thinking about not investing in any more of her works.

On the good side - I've got "Odd Hours" to start on right after I finish this!

Oh, Michelle, I so love Odd Thomas. I read Odd Hours a couple of weeks ago.

Have you also read the "Fear Nothing" books with the guy who can't go out in the light, with the cool dog, Orson? I can't wait for another one of those!

I read the first one, but judst couldn't get into it. Don't know why - normally I eat anything Koonta writes.

Myabe I was just in a mood and should give it another chance.

I never even tried the second one.

I think this is one of those "filler" books that writers sometimes use to get to the next one.

I bought "Blood Noir." I have the whole series. Its become almost a compulsion... waiting for and having to get the next book. Its funny, I compare the series to a train wreck. You know the next book is going to be just awful, but you can't help but wait and watch for it (then read it).

I know!

Hubby asks me everytime I get the new one, "I thought you said you didn't like the last one?"- but I've just got to find out what happens next. It's a written soap opera! So I'll be buying ther next Merry Gentry book as well. crazy

Maybe I shouldn't even start the series smile If I start a series almost always I have to finish it, especially if the first few are great. I'd thought of starting this one.

You should definitely read them! The first several were fabulous and I liked the second to the last one a lot. (The Harlequin.) Just be forewarned that there will be lots of sex. Did you read the Terry Goodkind Sword of Truth series? That was my intro to fantasy and I loved it.

I tell myself I'm going to put them all out on e-bay. But, in reality, these are never going to leave my shelves.

I know - even the ones that I complain about have some really good elements to them.

It's not even that I mind the sex - quite honestly, the woman writes some of the best sex scenes I've ever read. (Did I just write that out loud?) blush grin My husband certainly appreciates when I read them (I know I didn't just write thst out loud....)

It is just that she seems to keep getting distracted by the sex, and forgets about the plot - and then goes - "oh, yeah - I better have Anita go kick some butt now!"
