Yoga Shown to Boost Fitness of Older Women.
Women 65 and older can improve their fitness through yoga, according to a preliminary study done at Temple University in Philadelphia. 24 older women were monitored to see if a 9 week yoga progran would produce results.
In short, they saw measurable improvement in average walking speed, stride length, range of motion in hips, ankles and big toe joints and balance. They even stood 1 millimeter taller!
Since all of these improvements should lessen the chance of falling, it looks like yoga would be highly recommended for us older gals.
