Whose paintings do you admire? Present or from past history? Why does his or her style of painting speak to you?

Far and away my favorite is Monet. I can't give you a reason other than to say that looking at his paintings feeds my soul. I love all the Impressionist painters, but Monet is my favorite.

I also love the paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe. Her subjects are so simple but so beautiful.

I can appreciate Edvard Munch's "The Scream" - I used to keep a small print of it on the edge of my computer at a job that I felt trapped in. All I had to do was to look at it and silently I felt relieved of some inner turmoil.

I also like Salvador Dali's "The Persistence of Memory" - It was the first 'art' poster I ever bought for myself in college. I relate to it because I feel society is controlled too much by clocks and a lot of anxiety is produced as a result. I just get the warpedness of the clocks melting.

I like the playfulness of Marc Chagall's colorful abstract paintings such as "Lovers in the Moonlight." I especially like the paintings that he included angels in.

The Scream is my all time favorite painting. I am not very knowledgeable in paintings so the only names I can name are the most popular painters. I never remember the name of the person who painted The Scream blush. But I can appreciate this art form, I cannot express myself well when I talk about it but I do appreciate it.
