Good hearing protection is considered essential in loud noise situation these days. However, some marines prefer not to because they fear it will be detrimental in a critical situation. What do you think?

I can definitely understand the soldiers' fears. They need to hear every tiny noise. But in a way, keeping the "loud noises" out is what lets them do that. We're not talking about "when you are 80 you can still hear". We are talking about immediate - "after that shell bursts next to you - you can still hear noises without your ears ringing - and you need to be able to do that".

I think once the technology is proven to them, that they get that immediate benefit, that they will go for it.
