This week in my 12 Step Recovery site I talk about DUI's and how it is everyone's problem. You don't have to be an addict to get a DUI and you certainly don't have to be an addict to get injured by someone driving under the influence. Don't forget, too, this includes drugs legal and illegal like prescribed medications. Know your state's laws because they can be very tough. And be responsible. Maybe that Friday night "Happy Hour" that you attend once a month could end up a problem and a dangerous situation. Make a decision about how to get home before you begin drinking because once you begin drinking you might not realize you are impaired.
Be careful and don't be afraid to take the keys about from a friend or loved one who has been drinking. Don't enable and then pray they are safe. DUI's affect everyone. The cops can't do it all by themselves and many times, they are just too late.
I welcome your comments on this post and you have no clue that maybe you have just saved a life.
Safe driving!
