Hello out there,
My 8 yr old cockatiel has become a picker within the past 2 yrs. Been to a Vet and found no diseases or illness. I suuggested an allergy but not that either. Thought boredom-Nope because I have toys galore and change them frequently. I did leave my boyfriend this past year but the picking started before the breakup. Chilli is a male if that helps, very to himself, won't let me touch him or pick him up anymore!!! Help me he looks terrible. The picking is right now under his wings and now going onto his back. I appreciate any help. Maybe a collar like dogs get?

The first thing you must do is to take your bird to an avian veterinarian to have him checked for any medical reasons for this. If no medical reasons are found, a collar is one of the treatments to stop a habit. This will not help if the problem is medical however, so please take him to the vet first.
