Have you ever tried detox to help with acid reflux? My mom had it and she used a tea that detoxed her and it really helped. I think she still uses it.

Ginger is another good thing for acid reflux. I remember she drank ginger tea all the time.

Yes, ginger is excellent! I don't know of a detox tea that you are speaking of.

Unfortunately I am sensitive to ginger and peppermint. It's frustrating because so many people swear by them! Is anyone else unable to use them?

I heard that peppermint settles an upset stomach BUT increases heartburn.

Yes, and the reason coffee and chocolate can contribute to acid reflux is the chemical theobromine. That is why even decaf is a no-no. Contributing factors are also tight pants, bending over or lying down too soon after eating (allow 3 hours), lying flat and a bra that is too tight. So many rules for those of us who suffer with acid reflux!

I have heard of a detox tea. For me, all herbal teas, even chamomile upset my stomach. frown I'm glad it worked for your mom, though!

I'm really sorry you can't use ginger. Have you tried diluting them?

I use a detox tea called Holy Tea

You can buy a sample of it, which is 2 teabags, and it makes an 8 day supply. I know of people who have had great luck with all types of digestion problems when using this tea. I just use it daily to keep the toxins cleaned out of me because I feel it keeps me healthy and also, hopefully, will help me avoid problems like cancer down the road.

Thank you Joan!
I am actually entering a new phase in curing my GERD. When I feel a little more secure with my healing, perhaps I will venture to try some diluted ginger tea. The Holy Tea also sounds like something to try. I am a big believer in herbs for healing! I am using acupuncture and herbs for my GERD and am seeing some awesome results.

For detox I have tried the Japanese foot pads and really liked the results. They do have a strong smokey smell to them though, which can be tough to take night after night! sick

A foot poultice is something else you might try with the ginger since you've tried the detox foot pads.

I use garlic to boost my immune system when I have a cold. Fresh garlic can be hard on the stomach so I read you can just tape it to the bottom of your foot and your body absorbs it, without it going through the stomach. In just a few minutes after putting it on my foot, I tasted garlic in my mouth!

This might work with ginger too. Couldn't hurt to try it.

The Holy Tea is amazing. It's very gentle but keeps you cleaned out. With all the toxins we're exposed to, I just feel it's a good idea.
