I just started a new job. I am type 2 diabetic, take meds in morning and at night, test only twice a day, and have never had any instances that I couldn't handle (got low one time but "knew" it was happening). At my last job, I told people and they would make a full over me all the time espcially when someone would bring food in "Don't you know Jeanette is diabetic! She can't have that." They didn't want me to feel left out but it was no big deal to me. Anyways, I started a new job today. I haven't told anyone I am diabetic. My question is, should i? Like my supervisor and that is it? I just don't want to be the center of attention for it again.

But anyway, I would definitely let the supervisor know, just so that if anything happens - like your blood sugar crashes, then they will know what is going on.

Just let her (him?) know that you really don't want it to be public knowledge, because it tends to single you out. If you are straightforward with them, then they figure you aren't asking for preferential treatment.
