We got our first Roomba in 2006 and it's still going strong
The old steam cleaner is I think 7 or 8 years old? We did have to get new brushes for it but that was really my fault, I wasn't cleaning the hair out of them well enough and they got jammed up.

I just got a Roomba a couple weeks ago. I don't have the one you can put on a timer, but I still love it. Whenever I am doing any other cleaning I can just turn it on and get the vacuuming done with no effort. My boyfriend and I were both impressed by how well it picks up the dirt. I keep the floors much cleaner, when I don't have to drag the vacuum out of the closet.
