I think it would definitely be a negative thing for a presidential candidate to go on SNL. That would be degrading and damaging to their image.

I still remember Richard Nixon saying, "Sock it to me"......

I thought it was hilarious and shows she has a good sense of humor. Huckabee (last week) and Obama (last Fall) were really funny on SNL as well. I still remember Bill playing his sax on the late night talk shows in the 90's. I liked it then too.

Obama went there on Halloween episode 2007. and no one complained.

Giuliani dropped as well, but I didn't see anyone complained.

Lisa, I clicked on the link but could not find the skit. I still think it would lower a candidates respectability to appear on SNL. I do not think the general public wants to see the candidates become comedians. How could you trust someone to make a decision for national safety after seeing them on a show like SNL? Mabye I am too adamant about this, and I did not see the skit, but,....I don't know, I am just not comfortable with our candidates willingness to lower their status, regardless of who they are.
