I'm watching my Tivo'd movie, Alone in the Dark. It's a paranormal movie about a paranormal investigator (played by Christian Slater) trying to figure out the mystery of these monsterous beings from the other side, and an experiment on children 22 years earlier.

So far, it kind of reminds me of an "alien" movie.

Cheesy??? A little - well, maybe more predicitable than cheesy. I'll see how it goes. wink

Let us know how it turns out. I like Christian Slater and I might give it a look-see if it's good.

I had never heard of it and had to go look it up. It's a 2005 movie. I found the official website and the trailer definitely makes it appear creepy. It kind of reminds me of Relic with Tom Sizemore and Mira Sorvino. Here's a trailer from YouTube:

I actually only saw the first half of the movie. Things got too busy around here with the kids, so I put it on hold.

I never saw relic, but the movie does remind me of the alien movies. Implants, creepy creatures walking about and all that. Though the creatures are supposed to be supernatural and not alien.

One of my favorite Christian Slater movies was one with Rene Russo, and he traveled through time or something... But I can't find the movie on amazon.

I also love Untamed Heart.

I think you might be thinking of Free Jack with Rene Russo but I don't think Christian Slater is in it. It also starts Emilio Estevez

This movie was based off of the 1992 PC game of the same title. Alone in the Dark started a gaming revolution that brought us such hits as the Resident Evil series. I will have to review this movie!
