Top Chef
Hell's Knitchen
Lifetime and LMN
I also like the channels that show the action movies. TNT not sure if that's considered specialty.
I had to cut the premium movie channels HBO, showtime, etc off, it didn't fit in the budget.

I used to say Bravo's "Top Chef" and "Project Runway"- but this past year's seasons have been big disappointments.

Now USA is really getting me hooked with "Monk" & "Psych". I also love wathing "NCIS" and "House" on there, too- but I know that is not their home channel.

OMG (as my daughter says)..I LOVE Monk and Psych!!! I own seasons 1-4 and I just bought 6. And it's funny I never watched Monk the first 2 seasons, but my daughter hooked me on it around season 3. Now I can sit and watch them over and over again.
You are SO right about Top Chef, I've become very disappointed in the contestants they are finding for that and Hell's Kitchen, usually I can pick a winner but they ALL seem to be bad this year.
But my sis bought me the Top Chef cookbook for Christmas and while I will probably never make the receipes, it was fascinating reading about the behind the scenes of the show. For example that they advertised on Craigs List to find contestants for season 1.

I read that this will be Monk's last season as Tony Shalhoub wants to quit after this coming year. I don't usually watch Monk when it's on during the week but have watched all the shows on re-runs when they do marathons. It's great!

that's too bad. Usually when a series starts to use big name guests, like Monk has for the past two, I always thought that was a sign that the series was about to wrap it up.

Food Network--especially around the holidays. I found myself watching a documentary about a gingerbread house competition last year. And I watched every minute of it.

SyFy--despite the silliest rebranding ever, I still like the channel. Ghost Hunters! My kind of reality show.

Discovery Channel. Well, what would life be like without MYTHBUSTERS?

The History Channel. Because you can never know too much about the Romans, the Egyptians and World War II.

Chiller--new to my cable company and already on the remote's speed dial.

CNN--Becaue I'm a news junkie and because when something happens, I want to see full coverage of it. (Maybe not quite as much coverage as they gave to Michael Jackson's death, but I can't really quibble.)

Networks? Who needs Networks?

I found a great online TV show that focuses on families that have children with special needs. Having a child with cerebral palsy, I often get overwhelmed with the daily activities. This show and the site has helped me meet people and realize that I am not alone. Here is there website:BellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons.
