Hi there We're live in the Adelaide Hills in South Australia on 17 acres of bush. We get very colourful birds and lots of varieties. But recently we've noticed we're getting 'city' birds up here and so our bird population is changing. We think it might be because it's been hotter in the city and they're migrating this way because of climate change.
Actually Lisa you make a good point. We lived further into the country for three years and have only just returned here. During that time there has been considerable housing development about 10 minutes away from here. Could be that has caused the change in birdlife.
Birds are smart. They move to where there is food & shelter. The more developments that go up, the more trees go down so birds' range tends to go further. As much as I like having new birds around at times, it's sad tho! Love, Reina
