hello..i'm new to this forum, but am hoping this might be a good place to go for support.

I am so sorry for the fear you must be feeling right now.

What a brave, brave, young man you have raised!

I am not sure what to say, but your post did bring to mind a question:

It seems there are a million sites out there to help support the troops, and it's hard to know which ones really get the wishes, cards, and packages to troops, and which ones may not.

Do you think it's possible to let me know the best ways to send wishes, cards, gift packages, etc., or what the rules and regulations are for doing such?

My husband and I would be more than happy to send well wishes and goodies to your son and his troop--we have done so in the past for others, and would look forward to doing so now.

Deena we need your son's address when he goes over....I'll send things, too!!!

Thank you all so much for your kind words and support. It means more to me than you could know. Being part of this community is so beneficial to me in so many ways. I will post Jimmy's address on here soon. The guys are so good about sharing what they get with each other so his whole troop would be appreciative. I'll ask him what kinds of things they would like. He is at Camp Pendleton right now and will have his phone for a couple more days. It is a terrible feeling once I lose communication with him. Last time, he was able to instant message me a lot which was a great comfort. How have parents in the past handled not being able to communicate for months or even years? It's time for me to take my mind elsewhere. Thank you again.

So sorry for all the fear and worry you are feeling. My brother in law has been deployed in Iraq and I know how hard my sister had it. This is so hard as it is your son. My prayers for his safe return are with you. Nicola Jane Soen
