I started watching this a few weeks ago (I think on space). It's the whole ghost and supernatural power perspective from a male point of view. Kind of like a combination of ghostwhisperer, medium and supernatural all in one. I found it interesting but it started cutting into another show which won out so I might start watching it again.

Dexter is awesome but can you imagine how much of it will be cut on network television?

I don't know. Dexter to me is disgusting. All that gore and twistedness.
It just isn't for me.

Well, in terms of how much they'll cut, according to the Showtime president, they only had to shave about 6 minutes off of each episode and most of it was swearing so really nothing is gonna be lost with editing

That being said, bahrain, obviously they'll have to cut the extremely gory scenes out, so maybe you'll find it more appealing on CBS. theres really not that much gore though..

i just cant wait to make all my friends who dont have showtime watch the first season so i can talk about it with them!

I totally mixed this show up with the Dresdon Files. I have no idea what I was thinking...

Moe - I was wondering, I didn't think there was supernatural stuff in Dexter smile

Bahrain - you might do better with the TV version then, they'll cut out the gore. I'm a bit squeamish myself so I look away during gory scenes, but I do like the moral dilemmas they present here. It gives you a lot to think about.

If you're the LEAST bit squeamish, you will spend a lot of the hour with your hands over your eyes. I found it intriguing yet disgusting....but couldn't turn it off. I'm kind of surprised that CBS is showing it. The scenes are no more graphic than CSI or some of the others, but the sociopathic storyline is pretty disturbing. I can't quite put my finger on WHY I found it more unsettling than some Law and Order stories, but I did. Maybe it's because it's done in first person? Definitely not for the kiddies.

Lisa- I am the same way with Nip/Tuck and Dirt. I love the storylines but can do without the not-so-subtle sex scenes in those shows.

your right, the scenes did seem a little more graphic than CSI but i didnt find them overly disturbing. I was impressed by how much they actually left in the episodes. But that being said, they definitely cut out all the really gruesome stuff so you should def check it out on CBS...Michael C. Hall is fantastic in it

I can't wait for the new season to start to see what happens with the psycho chick. Think he will kill her eventually?

Vance - I hate to give away any spoilers, but did you see the end of the last season? All the way until the end?

Ok, I caught an episode last night and have now pvr'd it. So let me get this straight. He's a cop who's also a serial killer who kills other serial killers in an effort to get them to stop killing innocent people?

There is something intriguing about Dexter but at the same time disturbing. He's doing what many people would love to do to murderers instead of going through the justice system.

The episode I watched was with James Remur (luv him) as his father and showed his first murder which I was shocked to see was Tasha from Star Trek. I still remember when DH and I were devastated by her death by the ooze.

Anyway, will definitely watch again.

Moe, Dexter is FABULOUS. And it's much more than a serial killer with a perverted sense of justice. Hang in there and you'll find out WHY he kills the way he does ("Harry's Code").

I just saw the first season on DVD and LOVED it. I can't wait until Season 2 comes out on DVD (I don't have HBO).

I didn't set the tape for this past Sunday's episode (Season 1 on NBC- I don't have cable).
It happened to be Easter so I am hoping that they did a rerun - does anyone know??

I can't believe how addicted I am to this guy.

(I'm not sure about repeats but what about online? Some of the networks show previous episodes online once they've aired.)

Ok, I just had an epiphany(?sp) of sorts while watching the opening of Dexter... what if Dexter has a split personality and he doesn't know it. And the ice-box killer is actually him. oooooooo

So much for that idea. I just finished watching the episode. How weird is it that the ice-box killer is dating his sister.

I also liked seeing Tony Goldwyn as the serial killer doctor. He's a great actor... type-cast but still great. For anyone who isn't sure where they seen him before he was the bad friend in Ghost.

This is now officially my favorite show!
Thanks Moe for mentioning the doctor that is the serial killer - he is great - I didn't know anything about him.

Dexter's girlfriend was Darla on Angel.
