We haven't used S.W.A.P.S. in our area much. I am now coordinating a S.W.A.P.S. and Sing event for about 100 girls and I want them to exchange S.W.A.P.S. How is done in other areas? Any tips or pointers you can share is appreciated!

Just moved to PA and it is new here. I have been in the military since a child and every place and country we used swaps. They use to have to be made out of recycled material, now they have fun foam and tons of craft products. In MO a mom was in charge of Our Swapalooza held in AUG as a registration Day. For scouts .new, old and friends. Had about average 10 swaps to make. Asked leaders and parents to save up materials all year. Asked friends and leaders to come up with ideas or one type swap to make. Held at park or school gym. SWAPS should be something small to pin on camp hats or bandannas for girls to trade and remember events. We are doing our thinking Day ones now. You can start a board of made ones and keep at troop store for peaople to add to . Gives leaders ideas to make. Keep in mind BARS are great to collect beer tops at to paint. Film canisters from photo shops resteraunts for wine corks. Use what is around you for s upplies or ask church members to save items. Look on Ebay under swaps for ideas. People have now made it an business making them. We do swaps ayt every service unit event. Hope this helps.
