Who else is excited about Indy 4? Do you like Indiana Jones? If so, what was your favorite, and why?

Love, love, love Indy. The first will always be my favorite but I enjoy the one with Sean Connery as well. I'm totally looking forward to the next installment.

I totally dig it, M.E. Sean Connery was brilliant as Indy's dad, and the two (Ford) had a great on-screen chemistry. I've heard that they asked Connery to do a cameo in "Indy 4," but he apparently told the Lucas/Spielberg club that he was enjoying retirement too much!

I had thought Connery was in the new one but I guess it's just Karen Allen (Marion) coming back.

Here's a squidoo on the new movie that has some interesting clips, photos and news -BellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Please use UBB code. If you don't know how to do UBB code just post here for help - we will help out!

It will be fun to see Karen Allen on-screen with an older Ford. We just need John R-Davies, and maybe a little action from Shortround, and we'll have ourselves a classic Indy reunion! Woo-hoo!

Yes I really wish Connery had been able to do this one but I do understand that he's rather old! It might simply be too much for him to handle at this point.

He's old but still sexy! hehe. Well he was the last time I saw him. I wonder if we'll see him in anything else... I will go look... the last thing listed at iMDb is Sir Billi the Vet (2006). He lent his voice to Sir Billi. There's a 2007 picture of him there and he still has 'it'. smile

Yes there are some men that just keep staying appealing no matter how mature they get smile Sean Connery definitely fits that category!!

What other men are like that? George Clooney?

I'm so excited for this movie to come out! Thanks Moe for the clip - it's the first one I've seen! And yes, those guys just keep getting better with age!

I would have LOVED it if John Rhys-Davies could have been in it.

Mmmm...Hugh Jackman...

Ya know, I was on set with Tom Hanks once...and he really is rather dashing in person...and very sweet. His son, too, same way.

I like, personally--
Wesley Snipes
Russel Crowe
Val Kilmer
Ben Kingsly (I think it's his eyes)
Johnny Depp (does that man age?!)

Already mentioned:
George Clooney
Denzel Washington
High Jackman
Sean Connery

That is all. >.>

Hugh Jackman doesn't get any uglier with age. smile

I agree with the ones you mentioned although the last time I saw wes he was running from the law and looking kind of frail. Ben Kingsly is a definite one who's looked better since he's age. I never found him attractive when he was younger. Although it could have been the type of characters he was playing too.

Yes I own the soundtrack to that and watch it regularly. I love swordwork.

I even did a video of Conan, combining just the swordwork scenes to a song. smile

Would you believe that I haven't seen all of the first three? I know, I know, isn't that horrible! But my husband has decided that we, he, need to rectify the situation. He is planning on having a Indy marathon a week or two before the new one comes out in theaters!

I find with teasers that they often give away the best parts without all the build up - so then when you see it in the movie it loses its "punch". In some cases it ruins an important surprise. So at least for me, I try to see movies as completely fresh as I can.

That means sometimes in theaters I have to close my eyes and plug my ears when a really important movie is being previewed smile

Karen Allen was good and she pulled it off really well. I feel it was a good movie and that they represented the era well with the time line and such. I've heard- aliens? Why aliens? You can't have the Nazis in every Indiana Jones movie and after all, the BIG ta- do about aliens in the 50s was a perfect way to introduce the crystal skull. I think Ford stepping into the elder spot was done well- after all Sean Connery was great so why not Harrison Ford?

I thought the movie was Okay. It was not nearly as good as "Raiders of the Lost Ark" or "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", but it was not as bad as "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom".

The evil Soviets and the aliens were overdone and a bit far fetched even for an Indiana Jones movie. The movie tried too hard to be so heavy on action with a strange and mysterious quest. I would give it a grade of C+ at best. Not the worst film of the series and far short of the best.

I think that this was really used more or less as a bridge because they plan on creating the next generation of the Jones family.

The thing I heard the most during the production of the movie was that Harrison Ford was too old to play Jones. A lot of jokes from the media and such- well, my point more than anything was the Sean Connery played his elder father so why couldn't Ford play the father to his own son? Seemed to me that most wanted to remember Ford as the Jones of the 80s and not as of today's current age.

Rumor has it there's another script being entertained for another Jones film. I guess we shall see........

I was disappointed with this one. I didn't like the whole alien thing. Some people think it fit right in but I didn't like it.

I agree with you Vance. I was disappointed in this film. The Alien theme does not fit the Indiana Jones theme. I guess they ran out of great holy relics after doing the Arc of the Covenant and the Holy Grail. The first and third films are still the best.

We just watched this last week with our grandchildren (ages 6-8-11). They loved the movie. I didn't like the alien connection.

That's a good movie. The ending (not the last scene..im talking about before that) is not too good and almost stupid but it did not ruin the movie for me. Shia LeBeouf did a good job and if they continue doing Indiana Jones movies with him I'll be watching. What makes me laugh about the critics of that movie is that they mostly complain about the refrigerator scene (i have not came back to see the new reviews on IMDB [watched that movie years ago] but i bet the new ones are complaining about that like in the past) like the rest of these movies are a from a documentary or something plus if everything we see in movies could be done in real life then movies will be more than boring!
