Such a good question. China may oppose it but you know what, they have no control over the Dalai Lama. Granted they can in turn do something to hurt the people of Tibet to get to him which they have in the past. Unfortunately it seems if the issue at hand doesn't involve terrorist, oil, or homeland security America doesn't want part of it *waiting to get flamed for that comment* LOL
