Hello to all,

I'd like to especially say Hi to those who are living in Spain, what about introducing yourselves and telling us where you live?

I lived in southern Spain for 2 years quite a few years ago and loved it! The weather was beautiful, the people very nice and the food was great!

The beaches are also beautiful and people come from all over Europe to vacation in southern Spain.

Hi Angeles,

I've never been to Burgos, it's one of the many cities on my must visit list.

I live near Martos in Jaen - Andalucia, land of olive trees and that liquid gold - olive oil.

Hello Joan,

What part of Southern Spain did you live in?

There are as you say some beautiful beaches that cater for many nationalities.

I am curious about Spain. Is there an area near the ocean that is warm year around, sort of like South Florida? I want to be able to sit on the beach, wear shorts and sandals year around.

Hola Rachel! Of course you're welcome, come to Burgos and we'll be your guides! :-)

About Jaen... Yes! I agree with that "liquid gold"! It is not only healthy, but also gives any dish a different taste! I love it! And of course, olive oil from Jaen is really excellent!

Hasta pronto!

Angeles if you're visiting Jaen we've a casa rural (holiday home) you're welcome to stay in. It's in an olive growing hamlet, really peaceful and about 40 mins from Jaen city.
You can also get to Cordoba, Granada, Ubeda, Baeza and Cazorla (among others)for day trips.

Puede ser hasta pronto!

Hey how do you do that upside down exclamation mark? Can I do that with my English keyboard?

Hello Lisa, I don't know what the climate is like in Southern Florida but Murcia is the place to be in Spain.

In the south-east corner on the Mediterranean Sea Murcia gets the most days of sunshine in Spain and has the warmest climate in Europe.

It's dry with an average winter temp of 11C and in summer 25C - on the coast, as soon as you go inland these temperatures can drop especially in the mountainous areas.

In Jaen province where I live it gets much colder and much hotter than that!!!

Rachel, I lived in Andalucia in the city of Puerto de Sta. Maria. I was stationed at the US Navy Base in Rota as hospital personnel but we didn't live on base.

My apartment had a beautiful view of the beach and I traveled often when I was there to Granada, Cordoba, Malaga and Sevilla, plus to other countries as well.

It was a terrific experience. In fact, my daughter was born in Spain.
