Please keep us posted! It's nice to have that all settled, isn't it?

If I may add my 2 cents worth in, I can tell you I have spent about 10 years in the technical school field as a recruiter and in the admissions field with the colleges. I always recommended to people do what they have a passion for. Do what's interesting for them.

Hi Lala,

It's great that you're giving serious thought to an enjoyable career and actually working towards this. Not many do. Which is sad really as life is too short to waste in a dead end job.

Do check out my website Creativity and Sense for helpful resources for creating your dream career.

My blog has got some topical articles too.

Many gifted teens worry about their future because they are interested in so many subjects and think that every one of those interests is a potential career. They may become stressed as they wonder what career path to follow. They may have a hard time choosing a college because they can't decide on a major, or they may switch majors often once they get to college because everything is interesting and they can't make up their minds.

Here is an idea - Have you read Diane Mott Davidson, Joanne Fluke, etc???

They write murder mysteries where the lead "detective" (think J B Fletcher) is a caterer or something....their books come complete with recipes.

Who says you couldn't do that, too?

You can always write in the hours that are not M-F 8-5.....

Hey why don't you go for pharmacy. It is one of those options which is in great demand these days. I also feel that it is the good choice to get into it for making your career.

Wow, I haven't been around here for quite sometime.. thanks for all the responses. It's nice to come back to some fresh ideas and things to think about. I'm still leaning towards going back to school for the office thing, but not until after we move (we're buying a condo and its in the making right now) I need to be able to afford living with a mortgage, and save up for school.. I don't want any more loans.

But I'm always looking into new ideas in case anything pops up that might be interesting and worthwhile. I've considered SOOOO many career options, it's crazy! haha

As far as picking a career in something I have a passion for.. that's my problem - I don't know what I'm passionate about. I have some INTERESTS but I honestly can't think of something that I'm totally into and passionate about.. ugh, that sounds awful doesn't it? In life in general, what I feel passionate about is family and friends and happiness - I'm not really career orientated.. to be honest, if I could have it my way I'd be a stay at home mom like in the 50's lol.. I think I was born in the wrong era!
