This painting is the portrait of Qing Dynasty Empress "Xiao Xian". She was the wife of Emperor Qian Long. According to historical records, Empress Xiao Xian was a very down to earth and kind woman. She was loved by the imperial court and by her husband. After she died from illness in her late thirties, Emperor Qian Long wrote many poems in remembrance of her.
