I get urge to cry sometimes. It comes all of a sudden and I have to get up from my work and lie down. My heart becomes heavy and the memories of my past love and abuse surge in.

I know the feeling. I can't even watch TV with out an all of a sudden urge to cry comes on. It hits me out of nowhere. I sat through church two Sundays ago and had tears in my eyes "for no reason what so ever" It's pretty embarasing.

My urge comes with thoughts. Lots of them. Sometimes the thoughts are not clear but the heart becomes very heavy.

Sometimes mind too comes with thoughts. Right now I have "so many" thoughts running through my mind that I can't keep them straight. Lately, my heart is always heavy as well. I understand where you're coming from. Hang in there.

This happens to me also. I just am overwhelmed with a horrible feeling of sadness. Sometimes I do cry and then I feel better.

I don't usually feel better after I cry. I go through these spurts of crying so I don't get the chance to feel better. Glad I'm not alone on this one.

And you should allow yourself to cry. That is horrible. The thought of loosing any of my (four) children makes me sick. I'm very grateful (wont go into deep details....too long) to even have my first born today. I thank God for that. Bless your heart.

Yes. If you feel like, you should cry.

Friends - have any of you been on or considered antidepressent or herbal depression therapy? It is normal to go through spurts when we are very emotional due to.. stress, loss, pregancy, marriage/divorce, - but over time, up to a year or so they should subside and virtually go away. If the sadness and emotional lability has remained for a long period of time you may need some outside help! Don't sit at home and suffer! Your quality of life deserves more than that.

I am glad to hear that you started the medicine. Hopefully your feelings will improve as you desire. Keep in mind (though u may already know) that it can take up to 6 weeks for the medication to be fully effective. I pray you have complete restoration.

Music is what sets me off. I can be at work, at home, in the car anywhere at anytime and if I hear a certain songs, it just sets me off and I start crying. Same with tv..

Sometimes I get those urges to cry out of nowhere too.. more so when im alone.. the more people around, the less likely it is. And when I do cry, I always feel better after.

Sometimes I am completely thoughtless and cry for no reason - usually thats when the music or soemthing sets me off. But if Im alone and am thinking alot I can easily start crying.

When I was a teenager I cried myself to sleep almost everynight. Now I never cry myself to sleep, but my crying spells happen probably every 5 or 6 months I guess. More frequently if theres a reason.

How often SHOULD we cry? I mean, I know you can't really put a number on it, and we should always allow ourselves to cry if we feel like we need to, but what is healthy and what is too much?

I find that "nothing" really sets me off. I can be feeling OK and see a commercial about nothing in particular and just start to cry. confused It's strange really. It doesn't matter for me if I'm alone or around people. I sat in church a few weeks back and cried through the whole thing. It was awful!

I'm not sure how often we're to cry but, I have never been like this. I'm not one to cry much but I am lately. I cried yesterday in the doctors office when he asked a simple question. I hate it.

Lala, you have answered this yourself.
Here- and we should always allow ourselves to cry if we feel like we need to
