This particular story did not give enough detail to make me worry yet. Usually in the end, we find that the media has picked up on a scientific story that highlights a potential worry that in the end won't cause harm to any of us. This is a dose- response issue and in most studies the doses used in pesticides and plastics are off the charts. The news report you linked to did not give enough information on the actual reports cited for me to veryify any of the claims.
To the best of my knowledge, the amount of chemicals in shampoos, even the ones listed, are safe for humans and infants in the levels for routine use. That's the bottom line - like with medications, actually. If you use the subtance as directed you are fine and safe.
That said, I do agree that we have to continually assess the pesiticides and chemicals we use in general to be sure we are all safe - that's just good practice for all of us.
