I find the study re: academic performance vs. month of conception to be hogwash, at least in our situation. My youngest DS was conceived in May (born in January the following year, a month early), and he is very advanced in both math and language arts--he skipped a grade and has been subject matter accelerated to yet another grade higher in math. My oldest DS was conceived in April, and his IQ scores, while still in the gifted range, are lower than his brother's. And he has to work harder to get good grades.
