Hi everyone smile My name is Donna and I'm a long time crocheter & knitter.. but have always wanted to learn to tat. Bought a couple of books with no success LOL but took my first class today and seem to be doing pretty good with it. My biggest hangup right now is joining 2 picots (ggrr..) but it will come.

My fingers are sore and my eyes are crossed.. but I love it.. what fun and what tiny dainty little work it is! Anyway, glad to meet everyone and hope to learn lots and be able to share some too at some point laugh

Hi Donna -

Congratulations! Like you I'm a long-term knitter and crocheter, but I've struggled with tatting. My grandmother told me that when she was a young woman she bought the Coat's and Clark "Learn How Book" and taught herself to knit, crochet, and embroider but never managed to figure out tatting. I think this is my year though - my local EGA chapter is going to learn to tat this year and the tatters in the group are confident that they can teach the rest of us. You make me even more confident!

Hello fellow new tatter! I am new as well and tried to learn by books, internet, etc. However, I went to the library and checked out a tatting video and it was wonderful! You can watch someone tat...and I am definately a visual learner...and now I have a tatting shuttle in my hand every time I sit down. I recommend it to everyone!
