Hey everybody

I just filled yet another Zebra finch aviary (little guys grow on ya :-) ) ...So I had two left over from another overflowing aviary...put them in the new 7x3x4 ... and brought home 6 others and a Button Quail...(nervous looking little guy)
Put everyone together last night... For the most part everyone gets along fine....they'll chase each other around though... Im wondering if this is just to establish the pecking order, or if theres something I should watch out for...

If its normal, when can I expect these guys to stop??

:rolling: Those little guys certainly do grow on you!

Is this flight 7' long or 7' high? It certainly sounds like a good size for 8 finches & a quail and I'm sure they will settle in together fairly quickly.

haha....no no, its 7' long, 3 feet wide, and 4 tall...

The guys seem to be going at it a little.... They've calmed down a bit, but they'll still pounce each other at times... I think its female related <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> ...

Reached an apex....

Houdini- one of my original 3 birds from 2 years ago- I found laying on the floor of the aviary when I checked it after school. When I put his old cage in, he hopped right on top, and after a little coaxing, he came out of the aviary with me. His left eye is either missing or badly hurt, as he can't open it. His right eye is all blood. So I took him out, and set his cage up the way it was prior to the aviary....

The other birds (all from the same place) haven't changed that much- now the females are picking on an immature hen, and the two remaining males are territorial fighting.

Houdini only wants to sleep right about now, but with any luck, he'll be ok. I can talk to him and he'll peep back, and occasionally he'll answer the calls from the aviary across the room....

Oh - I'm so sorry that Houdini was hurt. I hope he'll be OK.
