Very cute pictures! Those are some laid back bunnies. And I love those ears!

I think it would be cool to have a Flemish Giant. We've had a few come through our group and they've all been very special buns. The last was a 17lb female who hopped in two separate movements for front and back. It was more like a "gallump!"

Lucy and Quincy are NZ's - she's white and he's brown. Our new foster bun is also a NZ mix, he's black/brown. His name is Max and after 2 days, he thinks he owns the place!

Oh, she sounds like she was adorable! LOL...love your description of her movements!

I love New Zealands too...they have such wonderful personalities. When I was a teen I had a white NZ named Sam, and he was lord of the manor (in his mind, anyway). Much like yours, I think! I recall one day he was out in the yard running loose, and my dog Charlie (a small beagle mix) decided to give chase - playfully, mind you, but it still startled both myself and the rabbit. Sam started to run, then suddenly stopped in his tracks, turned around and began chasing Charlie. It was as though something clicked in his brain and he realized, 'hey, I'M the one in charge here, not you!' Poor Charlie was so startled he turned tail and ran into the house, and wouldn't ever come out in the yard after that if Sam was loose.

I also love that you foster rabbits. There are so many rabbits who are given away by owners for various reasons; those bunnies are blessed to have people such as yourself in their lives. The world needs more people like you, I think. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thank you - what a kind thing to say! We love fostering bunnies. We belong to the House Rabbit Society and are very active in our local chapter. We've been fostering off/on since 1997. I love getting to know each new bun and his/her personality. I've certainly had my favorites (like Kirby here) and wish I could have kept them, but ultimately the point is to find them a home just as good as your own (I have to keep reminding myself of this, too).

I love your dog and rabbit story - what a riot! I would have loved to have seen that!

I have a Flemish Giant, Jack. He's pictured above with Pico, my service dog. Jack is definitely showing his age at 7 1/2 and down to a very skinny 9.5 lbs (from 20 at his prime.) Jack has run of the back yard and porch. We have just enough snow to cover most of the grass in the yard right now. He's cleared a small area for grazing and when Pico tried to come check out what he'd done this morning, he shoved her out with his nose. This is particularly amazing when you realize that Jack hurt his back last week and is currently dragging his rear legs around most of the time. (He may have a slipped disk, but finding out for sure requires x-rays and doesn't affect treatment at this point.)
When my cat, Mike, first met Jack, he tried to stalk him. Jack turned around and stalked Mike. They are now friends and graze and play together. Jack and Pico are friendly, but not like Jack and Mike. Jack has also scared off all the other cats in our neighborhood, there is only one other cat (Mike's friend) that will even come in my yard and he pretty much stays in the trees or on the roof if Jack is anywhere near by.

I too just adore Rabbits. We have two English Angora's. I just posted pictures on my blog of one of them.BellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Please use UBB code. If you don't know how to do UBB code just post here for help - we will help out!
