Hi all! Just thought I'd pass this funny little story along about my Amazon, Sammy! He so dearly loves our "together" time and will do anything to get my attention letting me know it's time to come out of his cage to be with me...As I cannot stand my furnishings or even myself to be pooped on (he's a BIG bird with very BIG droppings!)before I get him out I stand in front of his cage and tell him to "poopy" and honestly he will poop on command for me, in his cage, almost everytime! Sometimes he will pace back and forth until he relizes I'm serious and "work one up"...mostly he will just do it as soon as I ask as he is eager to come out and play! He is usually good for an hour or so then and I don't have to worry about him doing it elsewhere! I guess it is kind of gross...but abit amusing that I have a bird who will poop on command!

PS...We also nap on the couch together occassionally, so this really comes in handy as I wouldn't want to wake up to a "surprize"! LOL!

That's cute. Wish Matt Bird pooped on command - he poops frequently and doesn't care where - if he is playing on the couch and poops (I have a slip cover just for this reason so I can take it off and wash it several times a week) he has been known to backtrack into it and then make little tracks! EEEWWWW.

Margarita...I really didn't teach Sammy this as my parents were his previous owners (you can read "OUR" story in the archieves here on page 4 "Reunited")...and I think they taught him to do this! I had wondered why he was hesitating and then pooping first before I would get him out of his cage...its pretty weird, but kinda funny too! I am hoping to post some pics of him here soon!(not pooping, LOL!) Hope Matt is still doing well...we're still saying prayers for him! TC!
