So I've been debating getting another cartilage ear piercing--not just a regular lobe one, but considering the helix ones, tragus, rook... Any one have a particular one that they recommend? I think they all look really cool--I used to have an anti helix but it wasn't pierced properly so it came out a week after it was in--literally just fell completely out and now I have a tiny little notch in that part of my ear. It was neat looking though. Who's had good luck with what?
Thanks!

Well, if that is your picture, it looks like you have a few cartilage piercings already. I have a tragus and my husband, a rook. Now my tragus hurt really, really bad. Apparently I have really hard cartilage. However, I have talked to many people who have tragus piercings and they said they hurt too. It also, of course, takes a long time heal. Now my husband's rook piercing was relatively painless and healed easily.

I also have a unique industrial. It took over 2 years to heal completely and a round of antibiotics. I would get which ever one you like the best. If you have any questions about which one your ear is best suited for, talk to a reputable piercer. Any piercer worth their salt should be able to give you good advice.

The main thing is to only try for those cartilage ear piercings where your own ear architecture really supports the piercing. Think a lot about lifestyle (how you sleep, what sports you play), and especially, do you wear ear buds or ear phones a lot?

Some of the more exotic cartilage piercings do not go well with lots of phone work, or the wearing of ear buds during healing.
