Has anyone ever heard of throwing your banana peels on rose beds? An old woman told me this would help them to grow-potassium- but she doesn't have any roses in her yard so was wondering if this is hearsay--will try it but just wondering if it will hurt instead of help-any replies appreciated-have a wonderful day -is freezing here in Texas today.

I've heard about it, but have never tried it. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has actually used this technique. I've also heard of using the remains from fresh fish.

I've grown roses in several areas of Texas. I always used my banana peels and tea leaves on them. They did well. I, too, am shivering in Texas right now.
