Is a child more susceptible to be a smoker in adulthood, if he/she is exposed to secondhand smoke during the childhood?

I don't recall any studies regarding this. There may be some out there; I just haven't had the need to look.

But, whether or not inhaling second hand smoke has any impact on the desire to smoke later, children do mimic the habits of their elders--monkey see, monkey do. If mom/dad smoked, the likelihood the child will smoke as a result of seeing that habit on a daily basis does increase.

I agree. I think children think it is ok if their parents do it all the time so I think they would be more likely to smoke as adults just from seeing their parents doing it everyday

The law in Louisiana was just passed...no smoking in the car if children under 13 are in the car. And finally, no smoking in restaurants!!! Finally!

Are people allowed to smoke in enclosed rooms in the home with children around?
