Do you hate some aspect of your body (hair, skin, feet, nose) - even though people tell you you look fine? I have a friend who can't stand the shape of her nose, but to me she looks fantastic. And me, I think I have a big back end -- but nobody ever tells me it's small :-) I think because it really is a bit bigger than normal!

Do you have a "target" body part that you struggle with?

I'm 1.6m and weighs 43kg. I'm really underweight.

But ... I have a big head, and it's a bit square-ish at the top. So it makes me look very oversize at the top. I think it makes me look very fragile.

I guess there's nothing I could do with the size and shape of my head. And I find it difficult to put on weight.

I guess almost all of us in one point of our life feels this way. I suggest we should always keep in mind that each one of us is special and unique.

I remember when I was young I used to get conscious because of how my nose looks like. But as I grew up I realized that I couldn't do anything with it but to be contented with what I have.

Well, I've always struggled with my weight. I was a chubby teenager. I actually lost a bunch of weight my freshman year of college and was down to a healthy 130 pounds. I kept that off until I moved here to Germany (which was right after I got married, so both things may be related), and the weight, slowly and steadily, crept back up. I'm up to 156 pounds now. But it's all below the waist. I'm still small on top. I look disproportionate and it bothers me. But I joined FitDay on Monday and I'm keeping track of my diet. I am already a regular exerciser.

I just have a really hard time finding pants that fit me properly. I'm 5 foot 1 and currently am 140lbs!! <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> I feel the best when I am 115-120lbs. I quit a very active job last Feburary for an office job and I gained 20 lbs in 6 months! I quit the office job and am back at my old job and have been back for almost 6 months, and have not lost any weight, but have maintained my weight that I gained at the office job! If Im going to lose anything, I need to start exercising again. Ive lost my energy and motivation to acutally get up and do it. But I suppose my motivation should be to be healthy and fit back in all of my pants, considering I only have a pair or 2 that fit right now. When I gain weight, it's generally hard to lose, and I gain it in my chest, hips, thighs and stomach. (more so hips, and I already have big hips)

So, I could probably name some other things I dislike about my appearance, but this would be the one that bothers me the most.

- even when I am at a weight that I like, I still have a hard time finding pants that fit, because of my height, and big hips.

What keeps some of you motivated when it comes time to work out? I find it very difficult to stay committed and lose the weight, and keep it off.

To keep motivated, I vary my activities so it doesn't seem like working out. Brisk walks, softball, yoga on some days and then harder days, with running or the weight room. Running requires lots of motivation, and it really helps to change the scenery! I've always thought a treadmill in front of a tv would be a fabulous way to work out.

I've read that a workout partner can keep you motivated, but I haven't tried that.

I'm slightly less than 5 feet tall and weigh almost 120 lbs. It's a little heavier than I'd like, but unless I completely give up chocolate and other sweets it's not going away! At some point, you just gotta let it be....

I don't think of exercise as the key to losing weight. I think of it as the key to getting and staying healthy. I make myself do it, even when I don't want to. I vary my routine...sometimes going to the gym, sometimes staying at home, taking various exercise classes, etc. It relieves my stress. I feel a difference on days I don't exercise.

I like the feeling exercise gives me - a renewed sense of well being after each workout, knowing that I did something good for myself. That's what keeps me motivated.

That's a great way to look at exercise! It really does a whole lot more than simply help with weight loss --- and remembering all the extra things it does is great motivation to keep exercising.

Belly! I just can't love it enough to lose it! Wah! It's a real problem because it's ruined my back to the point where I'm barely able to walk (or leave the house.) It's a real dilemma.
