This is too funny! I found it while looking for more info on chocolate nibs -- see how sometimes the search is more profitable than the finding?
Try this out *without* skipping to the end -- it's much funnier that way! It only works this year (2006), so pass it around to all your chocoholic friends while it lasts!
Here's what you do:
1. Choose the number of times per week you would like to have chocolate. You may not be able to be entirely honest at this point, because you have to keep it under ten (and more than one, but let's face it -- that's not really an issue for us, is it?).
2. Multiply this number by 2.
3. Now add 5.
4. Multiply this number by 50. (Did I mention you'll need a calculator? Or at least a pencil and a really big piece of paper? Oops. Sorry. Well, we'll all wait while you go and get what you need.)
5. All done? Good. Now, if you've already had your birthday this year, add 1756 to your number. If you haven't, add 1755.
6. Subtract the four-digit year you were born from the number you just got.
You should now have a three-digit number that looks eerily familiar.
The first digit is the number of times per week you allegedly want chocolate (yes, we know it's more). The last digits are your age!
The chocolate knew! It's magical!
(Okay, it's algebra. But I still think it's pretty darned funny.)
