What is your favorite part of the Thanksgiving meal?

I am so looking forward to pumpkin pie.
I usually wait until Thanksgiving to make the first one of the season, so it is special. And it's even better with real whipped cream on top!

For me, it has to be candied yams, which I eat no more than two times a year, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The "old family recipe" is brown sugar, butter and heavy cream to make the candy sauce. That's it. No marshmallows, no fruit. Slice in either fresh cooked or canned sweets or yams

For me it is also Pumpkin Pie. I look forward to baking it only at Thanksgiving. That way, it remains special.

Our favorite part of the dinner is the homemade stuffing. I got it out of an old Betty Crocker cookbook and it is the best.

Will you share this recipe with us please? I'm always curious to know what type of stuffings people like to cook at Thanksgiving. Here in the South, it's sage cornbread dressing.

I am from Tennessee and my husband's family is from New England (Massachusetts).

We enjoy introducing each other to homemade dressing and stuffings! (There is a difference!) In Southwest Tennessee, cornbread dressing is very popular. My mother-in-law brings oyster stuffing.

Also, my husband MUST have his grandmother's Grape Nut Pudding. Not my favorite, but definitely his! LOL...

I use the Libby's Pumpkin Pie recipe straight from the can, but I add extra cinnamon and cloves.

Hey! That's my recipe! smile smile

I put it in my own "pat-in-the-pan" pie crust.
