Okay, I know I have posted about a v style mesh poncho before but I don't want to have Eva try to change her pattern just for me because I know she has much better things to do, so is there any easy way to just make some extra rounds till it has a v shape? I don't have enough experience crocheting yet to figure it out by myself.
Thanks a million!

Ducky, are you looking for a V neck, or a V at the bottom?

Ok Ducky, get ready for you first designing lesson. First let me say you ARE good enough, and you CAN do it!!! In order to create a V stitch with mesh you will need to put more than one stitch into a spot( an increase), sort of like the corners of a granny square. With me so far ? Let me give you a list here of what you need to decide before we proceed, when you decide post here and we will go on.
1. what size ? Adult, child, baby
2. How many chains in betwwen the dc (if you want a small mesh you will skip 1, bigger, skip 2, bigger skip 3, I recommend skip 3 but you are the designer here)

okay adult size big holes. But I don't get it. If I want it to come to a point wouldn't I lessen the stitches?

NOPE, not when you are working from the neck down. Ducky , please forgive me I don't have time to give you the breakdown of the mathmatics but here it is: ch 112, join to form a ring. ch 7 (this ch 7 counts as 1 tr and a ch 3), tr in same exact spot that you joined your ring. *ch 3, skip 3 ch, dc in next chain* repeat from * to * 12 more times. ch 3, skip next 3 ch, in next ch put tr, ch 3, tr. *ch 3, skip 3 ch, dc in next chain* repeat from * to * 12 more times. ch 3, join to 4th ch of beginning ch 7. Next row: ch 6 (this counts as a dc and a ch 3). **In next ch 3 of previous row put a tr, ch 3, tr. ch 3, dc in tr (this is the tr you made on the first round and this is how you increase)** *ch 3, dc in next dc*. Repeat from * to * until you get to your next tr. ch 3, dc in the next tr, repeat the above ** to **, then repeat from * to * , end with ch 3 join to 3rd ch of your ch 6.

Sorry had to make it 2 parts, basically you are just making sure that every row you make an increase in the corners (that is the ch 3 of the tr, ch 3, tr ) and just be carefull where you start it. So now your next row you will have to ch 6, dc into the next tr, ch 3, make your increase, ch 3, dc in next tr, so after every row you will have at the beginning one more ch3 dc. Does that make sense ?
