Yup, exactly. I don't even use the label "agnostic" unless I really am backed into a corner or am discussing something that requires specific definitions. I prefer not to use a label, and that is pretty much the basis of agnosticism anyway. Bizarre to have a label for not having a label...

We attend the Unitarian Universalist Society here in ORLANDO. I call myself a Unitarian but a UUer could be agnostic, atheist, wiccan, christian, jewish, etc....We all agree on the same basic principles and are liberal in our thinking..

If I'm following my definition (not that I came up with, of course, but that I use), agnostics are those who neither believe nor disbelieve, so they have their own separate space. That doesn't mean they have no place in the discussion, because a sound, logical agnostic, holding the position that there is not enough evidence either way, can serve as a good anchor for those on the more extreme ends on the spiritual spectrum. (And that isn't to say that agnostics only have that place in discussion, just that it's one role they can have.)

Mmm... I wonder if I can put "anchor" on application forms under "what religion?" <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

Considering the PC reluctance to discuss it, I doubt anyone would question "anchor". I recommend capitalizing, though. Then again, maybe the anchor religion is really progressive. Laughing. (More posting from me on a sleepless night, I'm hoping obviously.)

We usually just put "none" or "other". "Other" cracks me up every time now - ever since I read this link from Rae's site: http://www.caw.org/articles/otherpeople.html

Maybe, we need to just put a ? after the "What" and a "?" after "Religion" and that can be OUR answer!
I kinda like that "What? Religion?"
Or maybe just write "No Thanks" aftewards.
