Women should remain silent in churches. They are not allowed to speak,
but must be in submission , as the law says.

My daughter is an Anglican Priest and jolly good she is too! St Paul was an arrogant little so and I dismiss much of what he has to say as his prejudice and opinion!

Ehhhhhh??? What is your problem? Surely one is entitled to one's views of the characters in the Bible? Paul comes over as a very arrogant little chap!

The Bible ALSO says: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, nor male nor female, ALL ARE ONE IN CHRIST JESUS".

It also says: "Judge not lest YE be judged". And, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".

You need to remove the "plank" in your eye my friend before you preach about the "splinter" in any brother's or siste'rs eyes!

It is amusing when "Cafeteria Christians" pick and choose the verses which they like to throw at people.

"All scripture is God breathed"...not Paul breathed. Paul was the writer, but it is God who inspired the writing and gave them the words to write. Your daughter may be a Priest, but that doesn't make it right. We can't pick and choose the version of the Bible that fits our lifestyle. It's all or nothing. I am a women who speaks in church who also likes to look at the original text of Hebrew and Greek to see what was actually written. We are to worship God, not be silent. And God does not contradict Himself.

Becca is right on! All of us need to learn "how to study the Bible". One must determine: to whom is the passage written, what context it is in, etc. The women in the church, that Paul's letter is written to were extremely out of order (like many of the churches today). Paul was addressing a problem directly related to the situation.

I, too, speak in church and ask questions (not to mention I am separated from my husband, but even if we were together I would still speak). I am a thinking Christian who loves to study the Word.
