hi everyone, well i had a interesting day today, my hubby and i went for a nice drive and when we came home i found that the shawl that i have been working on so much was now a mess of yarn. seems like kitty liked the color and texture and decided to run all over the house with the thread, which of course unraveled the shawl. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR baby is a bad kitty(her name). just thought i would remind all of you to keep your projects away from your pets (and little kids too!!) have a great day merwyn eek

i learned this the hard way with my kitten Winston.. i went to bed and left my work on the chair.. i woke up to yarn streamers... so when i am ready to go to bed at night i pick my stuff up and take it in the bedroom with me where she isnt allowed while i am sleeping ... at least my project was just a scarf..

Dogs are also great at ruining yarn and projects. Especially if you roll it into a ball, and leave it. I've found more projects and balls of yarn than I can count in the back yard when I get home. Even when I leave projects up high where I don't think they can get to, they manage. You would think I would learn. I feel your pain Merwyn!

thanks for understanding. oh was i mad, and baby just looked at me like i was nuts as i had ruined HER fun. the little  oh well i started it over(with a new skein of yarn which wasn't cheap either) and now put it in a bag like the kids use for school and zip it shut. other than that if she figures out a way to get it out, i will just have to hide it in a locked cabinet or something hope your all having a great day. merwyn

I have had the same problem with my son... he just loves the feel of the yarn as a fabric and picks it up. By the time I hear him whining he has it wrapped and knotted all over him and half of my work is gone. My cat Oscar was worse. He wouldn't unravel it, he liked to neatly bite through it. I would notice a slobbery spot upon returning to my work and I KNEW what had happened. GRRRR. Now I keep it all in a zippered tote bag next to the couch. I am safe until my son figured out zippers!
