[color:"purple"] Paris is blessed with a seemingly limitless reservoir of culture. Of the many galleries and museums, which are you favorite and why?

Well, I haven't spent enough time in Paris to come close to seeing everything, but I absolutely adore the Louvre. The building without the art would be spectacular. And I think you get your money's worth...you could spend several days in there and still not see everything.

I visited the [color:"red"]Pompidou Centre last weekend for the Nuit Blanche when Parisians stayed out all night and into the morning in the name of visiting scattered art exhibits. Modern art has never been my favorite, but the setting of the [color:"red"]Beaubourg, as the French refer to this museum, is dreamlike. From the color coded architecture of the bulding itself to the interactive experience of moving through its exhibits, visiting is a very memorable experience. Currently there is a diverse traveling exhibit of modern photography, a staircase composed of musical steps, and hanging handmade books from around the world. [color:"red"]Check it out! In addition, the hours run later than any of the other Paris museums. The fountain, nestled into the square between museum and church, with tinkering, rotating, spraying pieces in pop art colors and unlikely shapes is alone worth the trip into the quartier!

I didn't get to see all of the museums I would have liked in Paris, but I did love the Musee D'Orsay. I want to go back to the Louvre, because when we went it was a free Sunday. It was packed!! I would like to go back when it's not so crazy.

I want to check out the Pompidou as well...

Man, I want to go back to France so bad!! Hopefully this year...

I have to say my favorite museum night of all time was the Nuit Blanche. The whole city becomes a museum at that point. But asides from that, hte smaller ones are a little more managable and more my style. (The Louvre is just too much!) Picasso is a fave, though.
