Forums are wonderful places to express ideas and opinions, we just all have to watch how we come across. That was my only point. I welcome your input. Sometimes it is someone's negative experieces that open our eyes to other problems in the medical world that need to be addressed. I've had so-so experiences with my own kids in health care so appreciate where you are coming from.

Sorry you've had such a bad experience in the medical world. All I can really say to that is doctor's are more stressed today than any other time - certainly a topic for a different post. So, what looks like pride may be fatigue and stress. And, huge burnout.

In any case, I'm looking forward to reading your posts.

Dr. G:

The baby's tracked in the 90th to the 95th percentile since she was 2 weeks old--she went from 7 lbs., 8 oz. at birth, lost the 8 oz in the hospital, regained it all plus by the end of the first week and kept on going since. She tracks right along--which I guess is why most of the docs really aren't worrying; but is above normal, which is why others are.

None of the docs have mentioned anything about BMI.

I'm going to just keep the milk down, keep the juice down and let her run. She's seen pretty much monthly for one reason or another--mostly her asthma as they're still playing with her meds.

I love the rule of 3s, that's a good idea I'll stick to from now on for sure!

Hi Lynn:

Is her height up there as well? If so, I wouldn't worry. You have a good handle on everything. Also, she's at an age where growth slows a teeny bit before picking up again. BMI is a great tool but can be overjudged but would give you a sense of where her weight is for her frame.

The rule of 3's is a great litmus for deciding on fact vs. opinion. Same idea is writing a book and deciding if you have to cite a reference. <img src="/images/graemlins/music.gif" alt="" />

Dr. G:

Yes, her height is at the upper end of the charts too. She's currently 35 inches, plus or minus a wiggle.

Thanks for the comments!
