Does anyone else love Kaylee (Jewel Staite) from Serenity/Firefly as much as me? <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
I'm one of those people who watched Serenity first, and then got into the Firefly series. With Kaylee's first few scenes I thought she was way too much and I was waiting for the cliched catfight between her and Inara = never happened! What a breath of fresh air. Now I just think she's amazing. Her unsquelchable positivity lifts my mood every time.
She really is "shiny"!

Kaylee is my favourite character on Firefly/Serenity. Closely followed by River and then Inara. She's so honest its painful, and that's what I love about her. I was devastated when the series ended, so I was over the moon when I found out about Serenity. I'm glad that Kaylee will live to fight another day. I don't know if it was just the way it was written, but there is a really odd statement on the trivia section of her IMDB bio saying that Jewel firstly had to gain weight for the role of Kaylee in Firefly, and then in the period between Firefly and Serenity she went ahead and lost the weight. It goes on to say that she was told she didn't need to regain the weight because they weren't considering anyone else for the role of Kaylee on Serenity! As if there was any doubt that no one else could be Kaylee!
Besides, I watched Serenity and Firefly back to back and there is no difference in Jewel's size??? The only person who looks different to me is Shepherd Book.
