I have no doubt that they will never end up on a bad film list. Also all the things you said are true, but I just didn't enjoy it. I really tried to, but it just didn't work for me. It was one of those, "is it over yet" things. I even tried to read the books, but didn't finish the first one. I am just glad I didn't go to the movies to see it with my family. Who all love it and think I am crazy. My mother in law pretends to like it, so they don't make fun of her. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I agree about the Country Bears by the way. My kids won't watch it.

Say it aint so--Tolkien bashing? To each their own but overrated is I think one word that cannot be objectively attributed to a man who developed an entire language for his characters, which I might add was not just made up fluff but rooted in real words. That goes beyond plot and character development, that is a special mind at work. If you're at all interested in giving his writing another shot try reading The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien: A Selection. This book really helps to give a feel for who he is as a writer and the blood, sweat, and tears that went into creating his beautiful fantasy world.

Okay, Okay--I'm off my soapbox now. I'm just a fan of Tolkien, what can I say? And yes, I am well aware that he was a linguist.

Has anyone seen The Thing Called Love? (River Phoenix, Sandra Bullock) In every respect a horribly bad movie, but also happens to be one I own and enjoy.

Now there is a line that conjures up some quite frightening images.
Or, perhaps this is the pr0n remake of the Halle Berry/Billy Bob Thornton Oscar winner...
