I was writing break-up tip for a website. I wrote that a forum is good to share the pain of break-up, but bad for making a decision about a break-up. In my opinion, before breaking-up, our mind is already confused and with different advises it will get further confused.

But after the break-up, we need as many friends as possible to share the grief. Am I correct in my thinking?

Possibly, although sometimes I think others' advice can help to clarify a situation so we know if we NEED to break up. Or, in my case, I asked on this forum and another one whether I was out-of-line to request that my ex not spend the night with our female friends when no one else was there. I was told it was not, and so I asked him and lo and behold, it came out that with one of them, the sleepovers weren't so innocent and we broke up.

Had I not asked for advice, I might've assumed I had no right to ask and who knows how long it would've gone on behind my back.
