I do not know how to knit at this time. Recently one of my craft friends gave me four pairs of knitting needles all size No. 2. Two sets are long 11" long and two sets are 7-1/2" long.

My question is what size yarn or thread is correct for these needles? Can I use worsted weight yarn?

I have a quantity of worsted weight yarn from when I taught myself to crochet. Since then I only do thread crochet.

I don't want to start wrong and then unlearn everything. <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Size 2 needles are pretty small for worsted weight, those needles would be good for maybe your thread or even sock yarn but not worsted weight yarn. I would start with size 7 or above needles.

Thank youuuuuuuuuu, Eva! :music: I'll get the larger needles to learn with first.

I THINK . . . use whatever you've got while you're learning. As well, it will be a good demonstration of WHY certain yarns are best with certain needles.

Yeah. Starting w/ worsted on size 2 would definately be a trial. It's better to learn w/ the larger needles. 7 to 10, maybe. I think that's what my stepmom started me on. It's been years.
